Mission Projects 2019
United Veterans Beacon House
The church serves as a collection center for gently used clothing for this Bay Shore-based non-profit organization, with all donations being distributed to needy veterans and their families throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Holy Trinity holds semiannual drives to collect printed reading material in all subject areas for the benefit of local schools, hospitals and senior centers throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Northport V.A. Hospital and Medical Center
Regular collections of hygiene items and reading materials are held to benefit the inpatient and outpatient populations of this regional treatment facility, located on the North Shore of Suffolk County.
Valley Stream Food Pantry
Year-round collections of non-perishable goods are conducted to address the problem of food insecurity and poverty in our village and the surrounding towns.
Visitation of the Sick
Lay Eucharistic Ministers bring communion and loving social interaction to homebound or hospitalized parishioners, along with their families, friends, and neighbors.
Problem Oriented Policing Forum
Holy Trinity has initiated a series of discussion meetings with representatives of the 5th Precinct of the Nassau County Police Department to all matters of concern regarding the safety and security of our local neighborhoods.
VFW Post 1790 Valley Stream
The church has initiated a new relationship with our community VFW Post, not only in providing reading material and hygiene items for members, but also seeking to welcome them into our various social and outreach efforts throughout the year.
Adopt a Family
The church addresses the Christmas needs of struggling families in our area by helping them complete their wish list for the holiday season.
Valley Stream Community Fest
The church participates in this annual local event, staffing an information booth which distributes a wide variety of literature about parish activities.
Saturday Prayer Meeting
A devotional gathering held on the 2nd Saturday of every month at 4.30 p.m. in which formal and informal prayers from the Book of Common Prayer are recited and studied.
A weekly study group of parishioners studying readings from the Old and New Testaments every Wednesday at 7 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
Sells a wide variety of clothing, books, toys, and housewares at discounted prices to the local community. Also actively donates inventory to such charities as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Book Fairies, LUPUS, Beacon House and the Salvation Army.
Major Work in Progress (MWIP): Currently doing research work in planning the organization and grant-based funding of an independent food pantry based at Holy Trinity for the latter part of 2019.
